The Doshas
Vata, Pitta & Kapha - are derived from the 5 elements that govern all the functions of the body (space, air, fire, earth, and water). Each dosha represents a unique blend of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics. Every person has their unique blend of each dosha; your blend is known as your constitution. By understanding the characteristics of each dosha you can cultivate habits tailored to your constitution leading to more balanced healthier lifestyle.
Vata

Vata is responsible for all movement and communication, represented by space and and air. It is a creative energy, quick & imaginative; the body is light, thin, long, dry, & rough.
PitTa
{transformation}
Pitta transforms/digests our ideas, food, & emotions. Made up of fire & water, its energy is motivated & passionate, organized; the body is medium & strong, active, hot & oily.
Kapha
{structure}
Kapha is structure & cohesive, it is what holds together, a combination of earth & water. Kapha energy is consistent & peaceful, reliable; the body is strong & thick, slow, cool & moist.
